"Comment GUIDE and I'll send it to you" works when the person asked for it and gets exactly what was promised. In this tutorial you'll build that flow and test it before it goes live.
Before you start
- A connected Instagram, Facebook or Bluesky account.
- The link you'll send, such as a guide, booking page or offer.
- A post that tells people which word to comment.
Step 1: Start from a template
Open Automation, click New automation and choose Comment → DM my link.
Want their email too? Choose Comment → capture email instead.
Step 2: Set the trigger
Pick the Platform, then add the Keywords people will comment.
Choose one short word that's easy to spell. To limit it to one post, add its ID under Post IDs.
Step 3: Write the reply and the DM
Add a few Public reply texts so replies under your post don't all look the same.
Write your DM message, then add a Button with your link. One clear link works better than a menu.
Step 4: Test it, then go live
Save the automation, then use Test comment to check the keyword triggers the DM you expect.
Turn on Save captured leads to Audience so everyone who triggers it becomes a lead you can follow up. When the test works, turn the automation on.
Instagram allows one DM per comment, within 7 days of the comment, and a follow-up only after the person replies, within 24 hours.
Check it worked
- The automation shows Live.
- A test comment with your keyword triggers the reply and the DM.
- DMs sent and Leads start counting once people comment.
