Follower growth rate is the change in followers over a period divided by the followers at the start, expressed as a percentage.
Why it matters
Absolute follower gains favour big accounts. A growth rate lets a café with 800 followers compare its momentum fairly with a chain that has 80,000.
How to calculate it
Growth rate = (followers at end − followers at start) ÷ followers at start × 100. Compare month to month and look for what changed when growth jumped: a format, a collaboration or a posting rhythm.
